Houston Skilled Consultancy is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for handling the companys financial transactions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, and maintaining positive relationships with vendors. Process invoices, expense reports, and payments while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Review, verify, and reconcile vendor statements to maintain up-to-date financial records.
Manage accounts payable transactions, including approvals and data entry into accounting systems.
Monitor payment schedules to ensure timely disbursements and avoid late fees.
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve payment discrepancies or disputes.
Maintain proper documentation of financial records for auditing and reporting purposes.
Assist in month-end closing processes by preparing financial reports and reconciling accounts.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and company policies related to accounts payable.
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proven experience in an accounts payable or financial administration role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software (such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Xero) and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in financial transactions.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining accountability and productivity.
Effective communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Minimum 2-5 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role.
Experience working in a remote environment is a plus.
Monday to Friday (Flexible hours based on workload).
Expected availability for team meetings and reporting deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
Experience with electronic payment processing and banking procedures.
