Job Summary

United Airlines is seeking a Remote Employee Relations Specialist (Female) to join our dynamic HR team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies, and fostering a positive work environment. You will act as a trusted advisor to employees and leadership, handling workplace concerns with professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.

As a key member of the HR team, you will support our diverse and global workforce by providing expert guidance on workplace conflicts, investigations, and employee engagement strategies. This remote position requires excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of employment law and HR best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, addressing concerns and resolving workplace conflicts effectively.

• Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into employee complaints, grievances, and policy violations.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as company policies and procedures.

• Provide guidance and coaching to managers on handling employee relations issues, performance management, and disciplinary actions.

• Develop and implement policies and procedures to foster a positive and inclusive work culture.

• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of employee relations cases and investigations.

• Collaborate with legal, HR, and leadership teams to mitigate risk and ensure fair treatment of employees.

• Support employees in understanding their rights, company policies, and available resources.

• Monitor workplace trends and provide recommendations for improving employee engagement and retention.

• Assist in the design and delivery of training programs related to employee relations, diversity, and workplace ethics.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of employee relations principles, employment law, and HR best practices.

• Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.

• High level of emotional intelligence, empathy, and discretion when handling sensitive issues.

• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously with accuracy and efficiency.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels.

• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining collaboration with HR and leadership teams.

• Proficiency in HR software, case management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience

• Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).

• 3+ years of experience in employee relations, HR investigations, or a similar HR function.

• Previous experience in the airline, travel, or customer service industry is a plus.

• Experience working in a remote or virtual HR environment is highly desirable.

Working Hours

• Full-time remote position with standard business hours.
