Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Remote Data Science & Machine Learning Intern to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in collecting, cleaning, and preprocessing large datasets from multiple sources.
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to develop machine learning models, algorithms, and pipelines.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover insights and trends.
• Support in building and fine-tuning predictive models and validate their performance.
• Visualize data using various tools and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Contribute to documentation of models, methodologies, and processes.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and developments in machine learning and data science.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in Python or R, including relevant libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, or TensorFlow.
• Solid understanding of machine learning concepts and statistical analysis.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Power BI.
• Basic knowledge of SQL for data querying and manipulation.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote and collaborative team environment.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience

• Academic or personal projects related to data science and machine learning.
• Previous internship or freelance experience in data analysis, AI/ML, or related fields is a plus.
• Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is advantageous but not mandatory.

Working Hours

• This is a remote internship position with flexible working hours.
• Approximately 15-20 hours per week depending on project deadlines and team requirements.
