Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Safety Officer to ensure workplace safety on major construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing safety policies, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of construction hazards and the ability to train and enforce safety measures among workers.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement site-specific health and safety plans.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify and mitigate safety risks.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct safety training sessions for workers on hazard awareness and prevention.
• Maintain and update safety records, reports, and documentation.
• Coordinate emergency response plans and first aid procedures.
• Ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on-site.
• Communicate safety policies to management and project teams.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities regarding workplace safety compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA certification, or equivalent.
• In-depth knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations.
• Strong observational and analytical skills for hazard identification.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to enforce safety protocols.
• Proficiency in writing safety reports and conducting investigations.
• Ability to conduct safety training for construction personnel.
• Knowledge of first aid and emergency response procedures.

Experience

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a safety-related role in the construction industry.
• Prior experience working on large-scale construction projects is preferred.
• Experience in developing and implementing workplace safety programs.

Working Hours

• Standard work hours: 40-50 hours per week, depending on project requirements.
• May require weekend and night shifts based on site demands.
• Travel to multiple project sites may be necessary.
