Job Summary:

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Home-Based Software Developer to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain software applications: Design, implement, and maintain software applications in alignment with project requirements and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to ensure the successful delivery of software solutions.
• Perform unit and integration testing: Ensure software quality by writing and executing tests to verify the functionality and reliability of code.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues: Identify and resolve software defects or issues quickly and efficiently.
• Ensure performance and scalability: Optimize the performance of applications and ensure scalability to meet growing user demands.
• Stay up-to-date with new technologies: Continuously improve your skills by exploring new technologies and programming languages that could benefit the team.
• Documentation: Write and maintain clear, concise, and comprehensive technical documentation for software projects.
• Provide ongoing support: Assist in post-deployment support and maintenance of software applications.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience in software development (2+ years preferred).
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
• Experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL) and API integration.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
• Ability to write clean, scalable, and efficient code.
• Problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Experience:

• A minimum of 2 years of professional software development experience.
• Proven track record of working on full-stack or back-end development projects.
• Experience in developing software for web, mobile, or desktop applications.
• Prior experience working remotely is a plus.

Working Hours:

• Full-time role with flexible working hours.
• The ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Must be available for team meetings and collaboration during core hours (10 AM - 4 PM UTC).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude toward addressing challenges.
• Ability to think critically and provide innovative solutions to technical problems.
• Deep knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts.
• Familiarity with modern frameworks and libraries (React, Angular, Django, etc.).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) is a plus.
• Ability to work in a remote environment with good time management and organization skills.
