Job Summary
Houston Skilled Consultancy is looking for a dedicated and experienced IT Support Specialist to join our remote team. As an IT Support Specialist, you will provide technical support to employees and clients via phone, email, and remote desktop tools. This role requires problem-solving skills, technical knowledge, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be proactive, responsive, and capable of managing IT issues in a timely and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line support for hardware and software-related issues across a range of devices and applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems via phone, email, or remote desktop tools.
- Maintain and update IT systems, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Assist with the installation and configuration of software and hardware solutions.
- Work closely with other departments to understand their technical needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Document and track issues and resolutions, ensuring detailed records for future reference.
- Provide user training and guidance for both new and existing systems.
- Ensure timely follow-up and resolution of all support requests within agreed-upon SLAs.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with new technologies and best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
- Proficient in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Experience with remote support tools and technologies (e.g., TeamViewer, AnyDesk, etc.).
- Knowledge of networking principles, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft Office Suite, and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A self-starter with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving abilities.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in IT support or a related field.
- Previous experience working remotely or in a virtual team is preferred.
- Experience with troubleshooting common IT issues related to hardware, software, and network problems.
Working Hours
- Full-time role with flexible hours.
- The ideal candidate should be available to work between 8 AM and 5 PM (GMT), Monday through Friday.
