Job Summary:

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a responsible and skilled Ambulance Driver to join our healthcare team in Coimbatore. The Ambulance Driver will be tasked with safely transporting patients, medical staff, and emergency equipment to and from medical facilities. The ideal candidate will be reliable, compassionate, and ready to handle high-pressure situations with a focus on patient care and safety. This role is crucial in supporting healthcare operations, particularly in emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate an ambulance to transport patients, medical staff, and equipment to designated healthcare facilities.
• Maintain a high standard of driving in compliance with traffic laws, regulations, and healthcare safety protocols.
• Ensure the ambulance is fully equipped and operational before and after each trip, including checking medical equipment, fuel levels, and vehicle cleanliness.
• Assist patients in and out of the ambulance and provide basic patient care support when needed.
• Coordinate with medical teams to ensure timely transport and response to emergencies.
• Maintain detailed records of transportation schedules, mileage, patient information, and other relevant data.
• Report any vehicle malfunctions or accidents immediately to supervisors.
• Follow all safety protocols and infection control guidelines during patient transportation.
• Provide emergency assistance when required and collaborate with medical personnel to ensure proper care.
• Respond quickly and efficiently to emergency calls as part of a dynamic healthcare team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
• Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR (preferred but not required).
• Knowledge of road safety, traffic laws, and emergency response procedures.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent physical fitness and the ability to manage physically demanding tasks, such as assisting patients.
• Attention to detail and adherence to strict safety and medical protocols.
• Ability to stay calm and focused in emergency situations.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.

Experience:

• At least 1-2 years of experience in a driving role, preferably in healthcare or emergency services.
• Experience in operating larger vehicles, such as ambulances or transport vans, is a plus.
• Previous experience in an emergency response or healthcare setting is highly preferred.

Working Hours:

• Full-time role, 40 hours per week.
• Flexible working hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, depending on operational needs.
• On-call duties may be required for emergency situations.

• Knowledge: Road safety laws, emergency procedures, basic first aid, vehicle maintenance.
