Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rigging Superintendent to oversee all rigging operations on our offshore oil rigs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all rigging equipment is maintained and operated according to the highest standards of safety and efficiency. This role demands a leader with extensive knowledge of rigging systems, who can effectively manage teams, coordinate operations, and implement best practices in rigging and lifting operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage rigging activities to ensure all lifting operations are carried out safely and efficiently.
• Oversee the inspection, maintenance, and operation of all rigging equipment including cranes, hoists, winches, and slings.
• Develop and implement safe working practices and procedures for rigging and lifting operations.
• Conduct regular training sessions for the rigging crew on safety standards and operational procedures.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure all rigging tasks are carried out in alignment with operational goals.
• Maintain detailed records of rigging equipment inspections, repairs, and replacements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any technical or safety issues related to rigging operations.
• Perform risk assessments and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Report to senior management on operational performance, challenges, and improvements.
• Lead and mentor the rigging team to ensure high levels of performance and safety compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Certification in rigging or lifting operations, with relevant offshore safety training (e.g., BOSIET, OPITO).
• Proven experience as a Rigging Supervisor or Superintendent in the offshore oil and gas industry.
• In-depth knowledge of rigging techniques, lifting plans, and heavy lifting equipment.
• Strong understanding of offshore safety standards and regulations.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to lead, train, and motivate a team in high-pressure environments.
• Proficient in using rigging software and documentation tools.
• Ability to work in challenging offshore environments for extended periods.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a rigging or lifting supervision role within the offshore oil and gas industry.
• Demonstrated experience in managing and supervising a rigging team.
• Hands-on experience with rigging equipment and lifting operations on oil rigs.
• Experience with offshore safety and emergency procedures.
• Previous experience in high-risk environments and handling complex lifting operations.

Working Hours

• 12-hour shifts, typically on a 28/28 or 14/14 rotation depending on the project requirements.
• Flexibility to work in remote offshore locations and adapt to varying schedules.

• Strong technical knowledge of rigging, lifting, and crane operations.
• Expertise in reading and interpreting rigging manuals and lifting plans.
