The Elite Job is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Certified Medical Coder to join our dynamic healthcare team. As an entry-level coder, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate coding and billing processes, facilitating the delivery of quality care to our patients. Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze medical records to assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as industry standards, in coding practices.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify documentation and ensure accurate coding.
  • Assist in resolving coding discrepancies and appeals as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, updates, and industry trends.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Support billing department by ensuring timely and accurate coding for reimbursement purposes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical coding program preferred.
  • Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, CCA) is required or must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding practices.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and anatomy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience

  • No prior experience is necessary; however, any internship or externship in a healthcare or medical coding setting is a plus.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is advantageous but not required.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Occasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to interpret and apply coding guidelines and regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills for assessing medical records and documentation.
  • Capable of maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
