You will work closely with a multidisciplinary hospice team to provide physical care and emotional presence for both patients and their families during a sensitive time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comfort Care: Provide gentle assistance with personal hygiene, skin care, and oral care to maintain patient dignity.

  • Symptom Monitoring: Observe patients for signs of discomfort, pain, or changes in condition and report immediately to the RN.

  • Family Support: Offer emotional support and a calming presence to family members and caregivers.

  • Respite Assistance: Help families manage daily care tasks, providing them with much-needed relief.

  • Post-Mortem Care: Provide respectful and dignified care following a patient passing, according to family wishes and facility protocols.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely records of visits and care provided in compliance with hospice regulations.

Requirements:

  • Certification: Active and valid CNA Certification in good standing.

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience; prior experience in hospice, palliative care, or oncology is highly preferred.

  • Emotional Intelligence: High level of empathy, patience, and the ability to navigate difficult emotional situations.

  • Communication: Exceptional listening skills and the ability to communicate with sensitivity.

  • Philosophy: Strong alignment with the hospice philosophy of care (focus on comfort over cure).

Technical Requirements:

  • Health & Safety: Current BLS/CPR certification and up-to-date immunizations.

  • Transportation: Reliable vehicle and valid driver license (for home-based hospice roles).

  • Screening: Must pass a thorough background check and drug screening.

  • Mobile Literacy: Ability to use mobile applications for electronic charting and time tracking.

Work Details:

  • Shift: Flexible shifts available (Days, Evenings, or Overnights).

  • Schedule: Full-time, Part-time, or Per Diem.

  • Mode: On-site (In-patient units, nursing homes, or private residences).

  • Compensation: Competitive hourly rate + mileage reimbursement for home visits.

  • Benefits: Specialized end-of-life care training, grief support resources for staff, and health benefits for full-time employees.
