Chewy is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Remote Data Engineering Manager to lead our Customer Care AI & Analytics team. In this role, you will drive the design, development, and optimization of data pipelines and platforms that enable actionable insights for our customer care operations. Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, ensuring high-quality delivery of scalable data solutions for Customer Care AI & Analytics.
Design, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines, ETL processes, and data architectures to support AI models and analytics initiatives.
Collaborate with data scientists and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across all customer care platforms.
Drive continuous improvement of data infrastructure, processes, and tools to support AI-driven insights.
Evaluate, recommend, and implement modern data engineering technologies and best practices.
Develop and maintain documentation for data architecture, processes, and workflows.
Monitor team performance, set objectives, and provide professional development guidance.
Proven experience leading data engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
Strong expertise in designing, developing, and optimizing ETL pipelines and large-scale data architectures.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern data engineering tools.
Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other programming languages relevant to data engineering.
Solid understanding of AI, machine learning workflows, and analytics frameworks.
Experience with data modeling, warehousing solutions, and real-time data processing.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Minimum 7–10 years of experience in data engineering or related fields.
At least 3–5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Experience in customer care analytics, AI, or e-commerce data platforms is highly preferred.
