Job Summary

Progressive Technology is seeking detail-oriented and responsible Work From Home Chat Moderators to join our growing remote operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring, moderating, and engaging with online chat environments to ensure a safe, respectful, and engaging user experience. This is a fully remote position ideal for individuals who are comfortable working independently, have strong written communication skills, and can maintain professionalism in online interactions.

As a Chat Moderator, you will play a vital role in maintaining community standards, responding to user inquiries, and enforcing platform guidelines while working from the comfort of your home.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor live chat rooms, forums, and messaging platforms to ensure compliance with community rules and company policies

• Review and moderate user-generated content, removing inappropriate, offensive, or spam content when necessary

• Respond to user questions and provide basic support through chat in a timely and professional manner

• De-escalate conflicts and manage disruptive behavior in online communities

• Flag policy violations and escalate complex issues to supervisors or support teams

• Maintain accurate records of moderation activities and user interactions

• Follow moderation guidelines and adapt to updates in platform policies

• Ensure a positive, inclusive, and safe online environment for all users

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Excellent written communication skills in English

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify policy violations quickly

• Ability to remain calm, objective, and professional in high-pressure situations

• Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with online chat platforms

• Reliable internet connection and access to a personal computer or laptop

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• High level of integrity and respect for confidentiality

Experience

• Prior experience in chat moderation, customer support, content moderation, or online community management is preferred but not mandatory
