Job Summary

Progressive Technology is seeking reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive Chat Moderators to join our growing remote workforce. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and managing online chat conversations to ensure a safe, respectful, and engaging environment for users. This is a fully remote, work-from-home opportunity ideal for individuals who are comfortable working online, have strong communication skills, and can follow established community guidelines with consistency and professionalism.

As a Chat Moderator, you will play a key role in maintaining the quality and integrity of our online platforms while supporting a positive user experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor live chat rooms, forums, or messaging platforms to ensure compliance with community standards and company policies

• Review user-generated content and take appropriate action, including warnings, muting, or removing users when necessary

• Respond to user inquiries or basic support requests through chat in a timely and professional manner

• Identify and escalate inappropriate behavior, spam, harassment, or policy violations to senior moderators or management

• Maintain accurate records of moderation actions and incidents

• Follow moderation guidelines, workflows, and escalation procedures consistently

• Contribute to a positive and welcoming online community environment

• Adapt quickly to updates in policies, tools, or moderation requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong written communication skills in English

• Ability to remain calm, objective, and professional in all situations

• Good judgment and decision-making skills

• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with online chat platforms

• Reliable internet connection and access to a computer or laptop

• Ability to follow instructions, guidelines, and confidentiality requirements

• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask

Experience

• Prior experience as a chat moderator, online community manager, customer support agent, or similar role is preferred but not required

• Entry-level candidates and beginners are encouraged to apply; training will be provided

• Experience working remotely or in an online environment is an advantage

Working Hours

• Flexible working hours with part-time and full-time options available

• Shift-based scheduling, including daytime, evening, night, and weekend shifts depending on platform needs

• Candidates must be able to commit to consistent availability during assigned shifts
