Job Summary

American Airlines is seeking enthusiastic, customer-focused, safety-minded individuals to join our team as Flight Attendant Trainees based at Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) Airport. Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the highest standards of passenger safety through adherence to all FAA and American Airlines regulations and procedures.

  • Deliver professional, friendly, and attentive customer service to passengers throughout all phases of the flight.

  • Conduct pre-flight safety checks and prepare the aircraft cabin for boarding and take-off.

  • Demonstrate and communicate safety procedures clearly and confidently to passengers.

  • Assist customers with seating, luggage, special needs, and general inquiries.

  • Respond promptly and effectively to inflight medical or emergency situations.

  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the aircraft cabin.

  • Work collaboratively with fellow crew members to ensure smooth operation and a positive travel experience.

  • Represent American Airlines with professionalism, courtesy, and a commitment to hospitality.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; college coursework is an advantage.

  • Must be at least 20 years of age.

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.

  • Valid passport with the ability to travel internationally without restrictions.

  • Ability to meet physical requirements including reaching overhead compartments, standing for extended periods, and lifting items up to 50 lbs.

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to remain calm under pressure.

  • Professional appearance and adherence to grooming standards.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and short-notice assignments.


Experience

  • No previous flight attendant experience required—full training is provided.

  • Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, tourism, or related fields is highly beneficial.

  • Experience working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments is a strong advantage.


Working Hours

  • Variable schedule based on operational needs.

  • Rotating shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Ability to be on reserve status and respond quickly to short-notice flight assignments.

  • Flight hours fluctuate depending on monthly bidding, seniority levels, and flight schedules.
