As a Remote Customer Service Representative, you will act as the first point of contact for patients and healthcare partners, assisting with scheduling, billing inquiries, insurance verification, and general information requests, while maintaining a professional and compassionate approach.


Key Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly and professionally to inbound customer inquiries via phone, email, and chat.

  • Provide accurate information regarding healthcare services, appointments, billing, and insurance processes.

  • Assist patients in navigating healthcare systems, including appointment scheduling and follow-ups.

  • Document all interactions in the customer management system, ensuring accurate records and timely updates.

  • Identify opportunities to improve customer experience and provide feedback to management.

  • Handle sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA and company privacy policies.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex issues and ensure continuity of care.

  • Meet or exceed performance metrics, including response time, customer satisfaction, and issue resolution rates.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelors degree in healthcare, business, or related field preferred.

  • Proven experience in customer service, preferably in healthcare, insurance, or call center environments.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, and CRM systems.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

  • Empathy, patience, and professionalism when handling sensitive customer inquiries.

  • Knowledge of healthcare terminology, insurance processes, and HIPAA regulations is highly desirable.


Experience

  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in customer service or healthcare support roles.

  • Experience working remotely or in a virtual team environment is a plus.

  • Previous exposure to healthcare claims, patient services, or medical billing preferred.


Working Hours

  • Full-time, remote position.

  • Standard working hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (flexibility may be required based on patient volume).

  • Occasional weekend or evening shifts may be necessary to support business needs.
