Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking motivated and dependable Residential Construction Helpers to join our growing team. This is a full-time opportunity for individuals who are passionate about construction work, eager to learn, and committed to supporting skilled tradespeople in residential building projects. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in assisting with day-to-day construction tasks, ensuring project sites are safe, clean, and running smoothly.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist skilled workers (carpenters, masons, electricians, plumbers, etc.) in carrying out construction tasks.

  • Load, unload, and move building materials, tools, and equipment around job sites.

  • Prepare and maintain construction areas by clearing debris, setting up work zones, and ensuring safety standards.

  • Operate basic hand tools and assist in handling power tools under supervision.

  • Mix, pour, and spread construction materials such as concrete, sand, or mortar.

  • Support framing, roofing, drywall, and finishing tasks as directed by supervisors.

  • Follow all safety regulations and company guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.

  • Perform general labor duties such as digging, lifting, and assisting with installations.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred, but not mandatory).

  • Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.

  • Willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors and skilled tradespeople.

  • Basic understanding of construction practices and tool handling.

  • Ability to work effectively in outdoor environments and under varying weather conditions.

  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.


Experience

  • Prior construction or general labor experience is a plus but not required.

  • Entry-level candidates with strong work ethic and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.


Working Hours

  • Full-time position: Monday to Saturday

  • Standard work hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (overtime may be required depending on project needs).
