Job Summary

SysTechCare Support is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Junior Design Assistant to join our fashion design team on a freelance, remote basis. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about the fashion industry, understands garment construction, and has experience with creating tech packs and coordinating garment samples. As a Junior Design Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the senior design team in preparing digital design documents, managing sampling processes, and ensuring all product development details are communicated clearly and efficiently. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation of detailed tech packs including garment specs, fabric details, and construction guidelines.

• Collaborate with designers and product developers to translate design concepts into clear, production-ready documents.

• Support the garment sampling process, track sample statuses, and maintain accurate records of revisions.

• Communicate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of samples and adherence to design requirements.

• Help organize digital mood boards, color palettes, and trend references.

• Review pre-production samples and assist in quality assurance feedback loops.

• Maintain digital design files and ensure proper naming and archiving systems.

• Stay current on fashion trends, technical innovation in garment construction, and fabric technologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field (students in final year can apply).

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Excel.

• Strong knowledge of tech pack development, garment construction, and basic pattern-making principles.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, remote team environment.

Experience

• 0–2 years of relevant experience in a fashion design or technical design role.

• Internship or academic experience in developing tech packs or managing sample production is highly preferred.

• Freshers with a strong portfolio and hands-on design skills are welcome to apply.

Working Hours

• Freelance & flexible working hours.

• Availability during core collaboration hours (between 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM IST) preferred.

• Approx. 15–20 hours per week, with potential to scale based on project requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic understanding of garment fit and construction methods.

• Ability to follow instructions while adding creative input when necessary.

• Familiarity with international sizing standards and techpack formatting.

• Organized, self-motivated, and eager to learn.

• Strong visual communication and layout sense for clean presentation of designs.
