Job Summary

Progressive Technology is seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Hotel Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our hospitality team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring smooth check-in and check-out processes while providing top-notch customer service. Your role is crucial in shaping the guest experience and maintaining the hotels reputation for excellence. Key Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with the check-in/check-out process efficiently.

  • Answer incoming calls, manage reservations, and respond to guest inquiries with professionalism.

  • Maintain accurate guest records using hotel software systems.

  • Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance departments to ensure timely room readiness.

  • Handle guest complaints or issues promptly and ensure high guest satisfaction.

  • Manage payment transactions, issue receipts, and balance cash drawers at the end of shifts.

  • Provide local area information, directions, and recommendations to guests.

  • Maintain a neat and welcoming front desk area at all times.

  • Ensure hotel policies, procedures, and security standards are consistently followed.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional hospitality or customer service training is a plus.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in hotel management software (e.g., Opera, Cloudbeds, etc.).

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Polite, confident, and patient demeanor with a positive attitude.

  • Ability to handle difficult situations and guest complaints with calm professionalism.


Experience

  • 1–2 years of experience in front desk, customer service, or hospitality roles preferred.

  • Freshers with strong communication skills and customer service orientation are also encouraged to apply.


Working Hours

  • Full-time position (rotational shifts).

  • Includes weekends, public holidays, and night shifts as required.

  • Shifts may vary between:

    • Morning: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

    • Afternoon: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

    • Night: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of front office systems and reservation software.

  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and deal tactfully with difficult situations.

  • Fluency in English (spoken and written); knowledge of other languages is an advantage.

  • Attention to detail and a high standard of personal presentation.

  • Team player who is flexible and eager to help others.
