Job Summary

Progressive Technology is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Remote Technical Support Representative to join our growing team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers requiring technical assistance, offering timely support through multiple communication channels. No two days are the same—you will handle a variety of queries and technical issues across hardware, software, connectivity, and user access.


Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and chat with professionalism and efficiency

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to hardware, software, applications, and network connectivity

  • Guide customers step-by-step through problem-solving processes

  • Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams

  • Document customer interactions, technical issues, and solutions in the ticketing system

  • Ensure customer satisfaction by following up on open issues until resolution

  • Maintain product knowledge and stay up to date on software updates and system changes

  • Assist in creating helpdesk guides, FAQs, and internal knowledge bases


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills in English—both verbal and written

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

  • Good understanding of common operating systems (Windows, macOS), mobile devices, and browsers

  • Ability to remain calm and supportive under pressure

  • Strong typing skills and comfort with navigating multiple systems/tools

  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote environment

  • Familiarity with remote support tools (e.g., TeamViewer, AnyDesk, Zendesk, Freshdesk, etc.)


Experience

  • Entry-level to 2 years of experience in a customer support or technical helpdesk role

  • Experience in a remote work setting is a plus

  • Basic technical certifications (CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Fundamentals) are desirable but not mandatory


Working Hours

  • Full-time position (40 hours per week)

  • Shifts may vary across standard U.S. time zones (EST, CST, MST, PST)

  • Some weekend or holiday coverage may be required on a rotational basis
