HR Service Jobs is seeking a detail-oriented and highly proficient Online Translation Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both French and English, with exceptional linguistic, cultural, and grammatical accuracy. You will be responsible for translating various types of content including documents, digital communications, technical manuals, websites, and marketing materials from French to English and vice versa. This is a fully remote position, offering flexible working hours and the opportunity to collaborate with global clients in a virtual environment.
Translate written content accurately and effectively between French and English.
Ensure the original meaning, tone, and style of the content are preserved.
Review and proofread translated texts for grammar, syntax, and punctuation errors.
Perform linguistic QA checks on client documents and websites.
Communicate with project managers and clients to clarify ambiguous translations or resolve terminology issues.
Maintain consistency in language usage and ensure industry-standard formatting and terminology.
Meet assigned deadlines while managing multiple translation projects.
Adapt content for regional and cultural appropriateness when necessary (localization).
Fluency in both French and English (verbal and written).
Proven experience in professional translation or localization.
Strong command of grammar, punctuation, and linguistic structure in both languages.
Proficient in using CAT tools such as SDL Trados, MemoQ, or equivalent (preferred).
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain translation accuracy under tight deadlines.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Comfortable using remote work tools such as Google Workspace, Zoom, and project management platforms.
Minimum of 1–2 years of professional translation experience, preferably in a freelance, in-house, or agency environment.
Experience in translating documents in sectors such as legal, marketing, healthcare, eCommerce, or technical documentation is a plus.
Flexible remote hours.
You may choose to work part-time (minimum 20 hours/week) or full-time based on your availability.
Deadlines must be met as per project requirements.
Excellent cross-cultural communication and comprehension.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong research skills for identifying correct terminologies.
Familiarity with translation quality assurance standards.
Ability to adapt writing style according to content type and target audience.
