Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking dedicated and personable individuals to join our clients cruise ship teams in Customer Service and Front Desk roles. This opportunity allows South African candidates to work aboard luxury cruise liners, delivering exceptional guest experiences while enjoying an exciting and dynamic work environment at sea. The ideal candidate will excel in hospitality, communication, and problem-solving, ensuring every guests journey is memorable and seamless.
Welcome and assist guests promptly at the front desk with check-in, check-out, and general inquiries
Handle guest complaints and resolve issues efficiently and professionally
Provide detailed information about onboard services, activities, and amenities
Maintain accurate guest records and handle reservations
Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to meet guest needs
Uphold company policies and safety regulations to ensure a secure and pleasant environment
Assist with special guest requests and VIP services to exceed guest expectations
Support smooth daily operations by communicating effectively with team members
Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance service delivery
South African citizenship with a valid passport
Strong customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal skills
Professional appearance and a friendly, approachable demeanor
Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and fast-paced environment
Proficiency in computer systems related to reservations and guest management
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle stressful situations calmly
Attention to detail and ability to multitask efficiently
Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays
Previous experience in hospitality, front desk, customer service, or related roles is highly preferred
Experience in cruise ship environments or international hospitality is advantageous but not mandatory
Demonstrated ability to work in team settings and adapt to dynamic operational demands
Full-time, with shifts varying to cover 24/7 cruise operations
Rotational schedules including day, evening, night, weekends, and public holidays
Extended contracts typically ranging from several months onboard, followed by time off
Strong communication and active listening skills
High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity
Basic accounting or cash handling knowledge beneficial
Competency in Microsoft Office and reservation software
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism and courtesy
Physical stamina to work long hours standing and performing varied duties
