Job Summary

HR Service Jobs is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Human Resources Specialist (Classification & Recruitment) to join our dynamic HR department. This position plays a key role in supporting organizational success through the development, implementation, and oversight of classification and recruitment strategies. You will collaborate with department leaders to attract top talent while ensuring roles are accurately classified, compliant with policies, and aligned with business needs. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct position classification reviews and evaluations to determine appropriate job titles, grades, and pay levels in accordance with organizational frameworks.

  • Design and implement targeted recruitment plans to attract qualified candidates for a wide variety of roles.

  • Prepare and post job announcements, screen applicants, schedule interviews, and support selection processes.

  • Ensure all recruitment and classification practices are in compliance with company policies, employment laws, and equity guidelines.

  • Partner with hiring managers to develop job descriptions, determine recruitment strategies, and advise on candidate selection.

  • Maintain applicant tracking systems and generate regular reports on hiring metrics and trends.

  • Develop and deliver training sessions for managers on recruitment best practices, job classification processes, and compliance standards.

  • Participate in job audits, market research, and benchmarking to maintain the competitiveness of compensation structures.

  • Support diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) goals in all recruitment efforts.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of job classification systems, job analysis, and compensation structures.

  • Proven experience managing recruitment processes from start to finish.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to analyze job content and recommend appropriate classifications.

  • Proficient in applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.

  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.


Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a human resources role, with at least 2 years specializing in classification and recruitment.

  • Experience in government, healthcare, higher education, or large corporate environments preferred.

  • Experience supporting DEI recruitment initiatives is an asset.


Working Hours

  • Full-Time: 40 hours per week

  • Standard Business Hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)

  • Flexible scheduling and hybrid remote work options available.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • In-depth understanding of classification methodologies (e.g., FLSA, GS, or internal frameworks).

  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external candidates.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Capacity to manage multiple classification and recruitment assignments simultaneously.

  • Skilled in data analysis and reporting related to HR metrics.
