Job Summary

The Elite Job is seeking a highly skilled and vigilant Control Room Operator to join our dynamic power plant operations team. The Control Room Operator will be responsible for monitoring, controlling, and ensuring the smooth operation of power plant systems and equipment from the central control room. This critical role demands attention to detail, quick decision-making, and adherence to safety protocols to maintain continuous power generation and prevent any operational disruptions.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and control plant equipment and systems through control room panels, SCADA systems, and other monitoring tools to ensure optimal plant performance.

• Respond promptly to alarms, operational abnormalities, or emergency situations, taking corrective action or escalating as necessary.

• Maintain accurate records of operational parameters, incidents, and maintenance activities.

• Coordinate with field operators, maintenance teams, and engineering personnel for routine and emergency plant operations.

• Perform shift handovers with clear communication of ongoing issues, plant status, and critical observations.

• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards and protocols.

• Participate in regular drills, safety audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Troubleshoot minor technical issues and liaise with specialists for complex problems.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Power Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Proven experience in power plant operations, preferably as a Control Room Operator or in a similar capacity.

• Strong knowledge of power generation equipment, control systems, and instrumentation.

• Familiarity with SCADA, DCS (Distributed Control System), and PLC systems.

• Ability to work under pressure and make quick, informed decisions.

• Excellent communication and coordination skills.

• Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

• Basic computer skills for record keeping and reporting.

Experience

• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in a power plant environment, particularly in control room operations.

• Experience working in shifts in a continuous operation environment is highly desirable.

Working Hours

• This position requires the candidate to work in rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure 24/7 plant operation coverage.

• Flexibility to work overtime during emergencies or scheduled maintenance.
