Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a passionate and patient Remote Computer Trainer to lead online training sessions tailored specifically for non-technical users. This role focuses on helping individuals gain essential digital literacy and computer skills through interactive, easy-to-understand online classes. Whether it is teaching someone how to use email, browse the web safely, or navigate common software, you will make a tangible impact on peoples lives by empowering them with technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct engaging, easy-to-follow virtual training sessions focused on basic computer skills.

• Design lesson plans and learning materials tailored to non-tech-savvy individuals.

• Offer 1:1 or group support to learners, ensuring they understand fundamental digital tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Zoom, browsers, email).

• Assess learners progress and adapt teaching strategies to fit different learning styles and paces.

• Troubleshoot basic technical issues learners may face during sessions.

• Provide feedback and follow-up support via email or chat.

• Collaborate with the team to enhance training content and methodologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a clear and friendly teaching style.

• Proficiency in basic computer operations and popular applications (e.g., MS Office, Google Suite, browsers, video conferencing tools).

• Fluent in English with the ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms.

• Ability to motivate and encourage learners of all ages and backgrounds.

• Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently in a remote setting.

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in training, tutoring, or educational roles (online or in-person).

• Experience working with elderly individuals, beginners, or digitally underserved populations is a plus.

Working Hours

• Flexible working hours (part-time or full-time options available).

• Sessions typically scheduled between 9 AM – 8 PM IST, depending on trainee availability.

• Weekends optional but preferred for extra sessions or makeup classes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• In-depth understanding of basic computer usage, internet navigation, and commonly used applications.

• Patience and empathy to support learners who may be apprehensive or frustrated.

• Ability to create a positive, stress-free learning environment.

• Familiarity with online teaching platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams.
