Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Engineer to join our team in the oil and gas industry. This role is essential to ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of critical equipment on oil rigs. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as hands-on experience in troubleshooting and performing maintenance in a high-pressure environment. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the longevity and safety of our operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of mechanical and electrical systems on oil rigs.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and systems to identify potential issues and implement preventive measures.
  • Coordinate with offshore teams to ensure that all safety standards and regulations are adhered to during maintenance activities.
  • Manage the availability of spare parts and maintenance supplies to prevent downtime.
  • Develop and update maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues swiftly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement system upgrades and improvements.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities are documented accurately and in accordance with company policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure that all work meets safety requirements.
  • Provide technical support to other team members and assist with training as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in maintenance or technical operations (e.g., IEE, ASME, API) is a plus.
  • Extensive experience working as a maintenance engineer in the oil and gas sector.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures related to offshore operations.
  • Ability to work in challenging environments, including offshore oil rigs, under strict deadlines and high pressure.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Maintenance Engineer, preferably in the oil and gas or offshore industries.
  • Proven track record in performing maintenance on complex systems and equipment on oil rigs or related facilities.
  • Experience in managing maintenance schedules, inventory, and working with a diverse team of engineers and technicians.

Working Hours:

  • 14/14 rotation (14 days on-site followed by 14 days off-site).
  • On-call availability during the rotation to respond to emergencies or breakdowns.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours as required by offshore operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of oil rig machinery, engines, electrical systems, pumps, compressors, and hydraulic systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with diverse teams, both onshore and offshore.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations and work under minimal supervision.
  • Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in the oil and gas industry.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and continue learning about emerging systems in the field.
