As a Technical Business Analyst within the Aetna Medicare team, you will play a critical role in driving technical solutions to support business goals and improve healthcare delivery. This role serves as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring that systems and processes align with Medicare operational needs and Aetna strategic priorities.

You will analyze complex business problems, recommend technical solutions, and contribute to the implementation of projects that enhance operational efficiency and member satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including Medicare business teams, IT, and leadership, to gather, document, and validate business requirements.
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications for system enhancements, integrations, and process improvements.
  • Conduct gap analyses to identify areas for improvement in current systems and processes.
  • Partner with developers, QA teams, and architects to ensure the successful design and implementation of solutions.
  • Lead testing efforts by creating test cases, validating system outputs, and troubleshooting issues during User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Manage technical documentation, including process flows, functional specifications, and user manuals.
  • Monitor and report on the status of projects, risks, and dependencies, ensuring timely communication with stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on Medicare regulations and align projects with compliance requirements.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Technical Business Analyst or similar role, preferably in healthcare or insurance.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to understand system architecture and data flows.
  • Proficiency in requirements gathering, analysis, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred:

  • Master degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience working with Medicare or other government-regulated programs.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like Jira or Confluence.
  • Knowledge of healthcare systems such as EHRs, claims processing platforms, or member portals.
  • Certifications in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) or Project Management (e.g., PMP, PMI-ACP).
