Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administration Professional to join our dynamic team at The Elite Job. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain multiple database environments, ensuring the integrity, availability, and performance of databases.
- Perform database installations, configurations, upgrades, patches, and backups.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database performance, ensuring systems are running at optimal efficiency.
- Implement and enforce database security protocols and manage user access rights.
- Provide continuous support for data replication, clustering, and high-availability configurations.
- Collaborate with software developers and other IT teams to design and implement database solutions.
- Ensure database systems meet business continuity and disaster recovery standards.
- Prepare and maintain database documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and technical specifications.
- Assist with database migrations and transitions as necessary.
- Perform routine database health checks and optimize queries for performance improvements.
- Develop and implement automated scripts for database maintenance and management tasks.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Extensive experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
- In-depth knowledge of database administration, including backup, recovery, clustering, and performance tuning.
- Proficient in SQL scripting and query optimization.
- Familiarity with cloud-based databases and infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent understanding of database security practices and user access management.
- Experience with database monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Redgate).
- Knowledge of database compliance, auditing, and regulatory standards.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
- Experience in managing large-scale databases in a production environment.
- Proven track record of optimizing database performance and maintaining high availability.
- Experience working with database automation tools and systems.
- Experience with database upgrades, migrations, and troubleshooting.
Working Hours
- Full-time, with flexible working hours.
- Occasional weekend or after-hours work may be required for system maintenance or troubleshooting.
