Key Responsibilities

  • Orientation and Induction: Lead orientation sessions for new international students, providing key information about the educational system, living in a new country, and support services.
  • Liaison with External Organizations: Act as the point of contact for government bodies, educational institutions, and community organizations to support students.
  • Cultural Integration: Develop and implement initiatives to help international students adjust to their new academic, social, and cultural environments.
  • Problem Resolution: Address student concerns related to academic, personal, and immigration challenges, providing effective solutions.
  • Advisory Role: Offer career advice, counseling services, and internship opportunities tailored to international students needs.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate student records and ensure compliance with institutional and legal requirements.
  • Event Planning: Organize social, cultural, and academic events to promote interaction among international and domestic students.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors degree in International Relations, Education, Counseling, or related field.
  • Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience working in student services or international student support roles.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Strong understanding of diverse cultures and the ability to work effectively with individuals from different backgrounds.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to manage complex situations and provide solutions while maintaining a professional and empathetic approach.
  • Attention to Detail: Proficiency in documentation, report writing, and maintaining accurate student records.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student management software; experience with virtual platforms is an advantage.

Experience

  • Previous experience working in an academic institution, student counseling, or student support services is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with international students or in a multicultural environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of visa and immigration processes is preferred.

Working Hours

This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week. Working hours may vary depending on student needs, with occasional evenings or weekends required for special events or consultations.
