Job Summary:

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Systems Administrator to join our dynamic team. This role requires an individual with solid technical expertise and the ability to manage and support our IT infrastructure. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our networks and servers, while providing proactive support for our internal teams. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain company servers, networks, and systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Monitor the performance and health of IT systems, troubleshooting any issues that arise.
• Install, configure, and update hardware and software systems.
• Administer user accounts, permissions, and access control.
• Perform regular backups and ensure data integrity and security.
• Implement security measures to protect systems from cyber threats.
• Respond to internal technical support requests in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with the IT team to plan and implement IT strategies for improving company operations.
• Ensure proper documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes.
• Assist in disaster recovery planning and implementation.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar IT support role.
• Strong knowledge of network administration, operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS), and virtualization platforms.
• Experience with cloud services and infrastructure (AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Familiarity with cybersecurity practices and tools.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in a Systems Administrator role or similar IT position.
• Hands-on experience with system installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Experience with server virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Knowledge of network management and system security.

Working Hours:

• Full-time position.
• Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
• Some flexibility with after-hours work may be required for system maintenance or urgent troubleshooting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• In-depth knowledge of system and network security.
• Proficient in using administrative tools and software for system management.
• Strong understanding of firewall management, VPN, and other security technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical team members.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
