Job Summary

The Elite Job is seeking a motivated and skilled Field Engineer specializing in data cabling to join our dynamic team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting structured cabling systems for various clients across multiple industries. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, and test various types of cables, including CAT5e, CAT6, and fiber optics.
  • Conduct site surveys to determine the cabling requirements and provide detailed reports.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot cabling systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with project managers, network engineers, and other stakeholders to meet project timelines.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry standards during installations and maintenance.
  • Document installations and prepare as-built drawings for completed projects.
  • Provide technical support to clients and resolve issues promptly.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in data cabling installation and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of structured cabling systems, including standards like TIA/EIA.
  • Proficiency with cabling tools, such as punch-down tools, cable testers, and fusion splicers.
  • Familiarity with network hardware and configurations is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in data cabling or a related field.
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial cabling projects is highly desirable.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position with flexible shifts.
  • Standard working hours are 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with occasional overtime or weekend work based on project requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • In-depth understanding of low-voltage cabling systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
