Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze patient records to assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure compliance with coding guidelines.
• Conduct regular audits of coding accuracy and provide feedback for improvement.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding regulations, reimbursement policies, and healthcare industry trends.
• Assist in the resolution of coding-related billing issues and inquiries from insurance companies.
• Support the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
• Participate in ongoing education and training programs to further develop coding skills and knowledge.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent coding certification is required.
• Proficient in medical coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding within a healthcare setting preferred.
• Experience with coding for various specialties is a plus.

Working Hours

• Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Flexibility may be required based on departmental needs.
