Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze patient records to assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure compliance with coding guidelines.
- Conduct regular audits of coding accuracy and provide feedback for improvement.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding regulations, reimbursement policies, and healthcare industry trends.
- Assist in the resolution of coding-related billing issues and inquiries from insurance companies.
- Support the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Participate in ongoing education and training programs to further develop coding skills and knowledge.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent coding certification is required.
- Proficient in medical coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding within a healthcare setting preferred.
- Experience with coding for various specialties is a plus.
- Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement processes and compliance standards.
Working Hours
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Flexibility may be required based on departmental needs.

- In-depth knowledge of medical coding guidelines and regulations.
- Ability to interpret clinical documentation and apply appropriate coding standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and coding software.
