Job Summary

Progressive Technology is seeking a dedicated and reliable Medical Courier/Route Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the timely and safe transportation of medical specimens, pharmaceuticals, and other healthcare-related materials between facilities. Your commitment to exceptional service and adherence to safety protocols will ensure that our clients receive the highest standard of care.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport medical specimens, medications, and supplies to various healthcare facilities, including hospitals, clinics, and laboratories.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and ensure all shipments are documented according to company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition and report any issues to management.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, healthcare providers, and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules and address any concerns.
• Follow all safety and compliance guidelines, including handling hazardous materials and maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
• Provide exceptional customer service by being professional, courteous, and responsive to the needs of clients.
• Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with industry regulations and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in transportation or logistics is a plus.
• Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple deliveries efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility.

Experience

• Previous experience as a courier, delivery driver, or in a related field is preferred, particularly in the medical or healthcare sector.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and handling of medical specimens is an advantage.

Working Hours

• Full-time position with flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required.
• Availability for on-call shifts may be necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of local roads and traffic patterns to ensure timely deliveries.
• Ability to operate vehicles safely and efficiently under various weather conditions.
• Understanding of safety regulations related to the transportation of medical materials.
• Proficient in using GPS and other navigation tools.
