Job Summary:
CIBC, one of the leading financial institutions in North America, is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled IT Quality Assurance Analyst to join our dynamic team. As part of our IT Quality Assurance division, specifically focusing on CIBC & Simplii Online Banking (OLB) platforms, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our digital banking solutions. This position demands a deep understanding of quality assurance methodologies, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to delivering superior user experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate functionality, performance, and security of CIBC and Simplii Online Banking platforms. Execute manual and automated tests to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Defect Management: Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution. Work closely with development teams to reproduce, analyze, and troubleshoot issues.
Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and provide feedback on technical specifications. Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development and enhancement of QA processes and best practices. Advocate for quality assurance throughout the software development lifecycle.
Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on testing activities, defect status, and quality metrics to ensure transparency and drive continuous improvement.
Compliance: Ensure that testing procedures adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with internal and external audit standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Educational Background: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices. Proficiency in test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, QTP) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) is a plus.
Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail. Ability to analyze complex systems and identify potential issues.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to convey technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Teamwork: Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Experience with agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) is advantageous.
Experience:
Professional Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT Quality Assurance, preferably within the financial services sector.
Domain Knowledge: Experience with online banking platforms, financial systems, or similar digital services is highly desirable.
