Job Summary
American Airlines, a global leader in the aviation industry, is seeking a highly skilled Support Engineer - Network and Security to join our remote team. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage American Airlines global network infrastructure, ensuring secure and seamless operations.
• Implement, configure, and troubleshoot network hardware and software to maintain high levels of performance and security.
• Monitor network traffic for security threats and work with the cybersecurity team to develop and apply security policies and protocols.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues related to network and security systems.
• Conduct risk assessments and manage network security updates, patches, and upgrades.
• Provide technical support to internal teams, ensuring efficient resolution of network and security-related issues.
• Document network and security procedures, configurations, and incident resolutions to maintain up-to-date technical records.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in network and security technologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience in network engineering and cybersecurity.
• Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.) and hands-on experience with network security technologies (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, etc.).
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and security (AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Certification in networking or cybersecurity, such as CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, or equivalent, is highly desirable.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex network and security issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining high productivity.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years in network engineering and security roles, ideally in large, complex organizations.
• Experience with remote troubleshooting and support of global network systems is a plus.
• Proven experience in handling network security breaches and incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

Working Hours
This is a full-time, remote position with flexible working hours. While the role allows for autonomy in setting your schedule, availability for critical network support and coordination with global teams may require some flexibility.
