Job Summary:

American Airlines is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Specialist for our IT Inventory Support team within our warehouse operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient management and accuracy of our IT inventory. The Specialist will oversee the tracking, stocking, and distribution of IT assets, ensuring that all equipment is handled with precision and meets the operational needs of our airline. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in inventory management, a strong understanding of IT systems, and excellent problem-solving skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of IT assets, including servers, laptops, and other equipment. Monitor inventory levels, and perform regular audits to ensure data integrity and compliance with company policies.
  • Asset Tracking: Utilize inventory management systems to track the movement of IT assets from the point of receipt through to deployment and decommissioning. Ensure all equipment is properly tagged and recorded.
  • Warehouse Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the IT inventory warehouse. Manage the receiving, storage, and shipping of IT assets. Ensure the warehouse environment is organized and that equipment is stored safely and securely.
  • Reporting: Generate and analyze reports on inventory levels, usage, and discrepancies. Provide recommendations for process improvements based on data analysis.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT, procurement, and other relevant departments to coordinate the acquisition and distribution of IT equipment. Address and resolve any inventory-related issues or discrepancies.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations related to inventory management and IT asset handling.
  • Support: Provide technical support and training to warehouse staff and other team members regarding inventory management systems and procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory management, with a focus on IT assets preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with inventory management software and IT asset tracking systems. Familiarity with IT hardware and software.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory records and reports.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address inventory issues effectively.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with staff at all levels.

Experience:

  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within a large organization or in a technology-focused environment is highly desirable.
  • Hands-On Experience: Practical experience with IT asset management, including knowledge of inventory control processes and warehouse operations.
