Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze medical documentation, including patient charts and medical records, to accurately assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as payer-specific guidelines.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to clarify documentation and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, policies, and industry best practices.
• Participate in coding audits and reviews, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
• Assist in the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures to enhance workflow and accuracy.
• Provide support in billing and claims processing, ensuring timely and accurate submission of claims.
• Keep abreast of industry changes and updates to coding standards and regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Certification in Medical Coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, or equivalent) is preferred but not required.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Proficiency in coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately interpret and analyze medical records.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote work environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Experience

• Previous experience in medical coding or a related field is preferred but not required. Fresh graduates with relevant coursework or internships are encouraged to apply.

Working Hours

• This is a full-time remote position with standard working hours of Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (EST). Flexibility may be required based on project needs and deadlines.
