Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Review and verify clinical documentation to ensure that coding aligns with documented information.
• Assist in resolving coding discrepancies and queries from healthcare providers or insurance companies.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and coding standards.
• Maintain and update coding knowledge in line with industry changes and updates.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to obtain necessary information for accurate coding.
• Document and report any issues or inconsistencies found in medical records.
• Participate in coding audits and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Certification in Medical Coding (e.g., CPC, CCS) preferred but not required.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare coding systems.
• Proficiency in using medical coding software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and data entry.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.

Experience:

• Previous experience in a healthcare or medical coding environment is a plus but not required.
• Internships or coursework related to medical coding or healthcare administration will be considered.

Working Hours:

• Full-time position, Monday to Friday.
• Standard working hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Occasional overtime may be required based on project needs.

• Comprehensive knowledge of medical coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
