At HK Consultancy, we are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Certified Medical Coder to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for translating medical documentation into standardized codes used for billing and insurance purposes. This role requires a deep understanding of medical terminology and coding practices to ensure accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations. As a Certified Medical Coder, you will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of our healthcare services, contributing to accurate claim submissions and financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate coding for diagnoses, procedures, and treatments.
- Ensure compliance with coding standards and regulations, including ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies or additional information needed for accurate coding.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and changes in regulations.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies, ensuring that all required documentation is included.
- Address and resolve any coding-related queries or issues with insurance companies and healthcare providers.
- Generate and analyze reports on coding productivity and accuracy.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with industry best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Certification as a Medical Coder (e.g., CPC, CCS, or equivalent).
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Effective communication skills to interact with healthcare professionals and insurance companies.
Experience:
- Previous experience in medical coding is preferred but not required. Fresh graduates with relevant certification are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in a healthcare setting or with medical billing is advantageous.
Working Hours:
- Full-time position.
- Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required based on workload.

- In-depth knowledge of coding guidelines and medical terminology.
- Ability to interpret and apply coding guidelines accurately.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
