As a Remote Customer Service Representative, you will be the voice of Cigna, assisting members, providers, and clients with inquiries related to health benefits, claims, eligibility, and more. Your role is crucial in delivering an exceptional customer experience, resolving concerns with empathy, accuracy, and efficiency—all from the comfort of your own home.


Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to inbound calls, emails, and chats from members and providers with professionalism and empathy.

  • Educate customers on their health benefits, claims status, authorizations, and coverage.

  • Accurately document all interactions in the system to ensure compliance and consistency.

  • De-escalate difficult interactions and resolve complaints with tact and efficiency.

  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve complex customer concerns.

  • Meet performance metrics including quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

  • Stay up-to-date with product knowledge, policy changes, and system enhancements.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelors degree is a plus).

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.

  • Proficient in navigating multiple systems and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

  • Customer-first attitude with the ability to remain calm under pressure.

  • Must have a reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet, dedicated workspace.


Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in customer service, healthcare, or insurance industry preferred.

  • Prior experience in a call center or remote work environment is highly desirable.


Working Hours

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.

  • Must be flexible to work within Cignas hours of operation, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on business needs.

  • Shift schedules are assigned based on business demand and may be subject to change.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Solid understanding of healthcare terminology and insurance processes is an advantage.

  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity.
