Job Summary

This role is vital in ensuring patients receive their prescribed medications in a timely manner by coordinating the prior authorization process for pharmacy benefit claims. Key Responsibilities

• Review and process prior authorization requests for medications, ensuring all clinical and formulary guidelines are followed.

• Communicate with prescribers, patients, and insurance providers to obtain missing or additional information.

• Accurately document all interactions and decisions into appropriate systems.

• Verify patient eligibility and benefits for requested prescriptions.

• Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency.

• Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure prescriptions are filled appropriately.

• Maintain confidentiality of patient health information in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license or certification (as required by state regulations).

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

• Proficiency with computers and basic software applications (Microsoft Office, data entry tools).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and time management abilities.

• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining productivity.

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician (retail, mail order, or specialty preferred).

• Prior experience in prior authorization, pharmacy benefit management (PBM), or managed care is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with insurance verification, medical terminology, and healthcare documentation.

Working Hours

• Full-time, 40 hours per week.

• Flexible scheduling options are available; some weekend or evening hours may be required depending on business needs.

• All shifts are conducted remotely from the comfort of your home.
