Job Summary:
Progressive Technology is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Cybersecurity Analyst to join our remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for safeguarding the companys information systems and digital assets by identifying vulnerabilities, mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of security protocols, threat analysis, and an ability to respond effectively to security incidents. A cybersecurity certification (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+) is highly preferred to help drive the security strategy for our remote-first organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and Analyze Security Threats: Continuously monitor network traffic, systems, and applications for signs of security breaches or unauthorized activities.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Evaluate and identify security risks to the organizations systems, networks, and data. Develop and implement strategies to minimize vulnerabilities and ensure security.
- Incident Response: Respond to security incidents and breaches, perform root cause analysis, and ensure quick resolution to mitigate damage.
- Security Audits: Conduct regular audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure the organization meets cybersecurity standards and complies with regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the IT department to ensure security measures are integrated into all projects, from system configurations to software development.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of security procedures, incident reports, and improvement initiatives to enhance the organizations cybersecurity posture.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Certification in Cybersecurity (CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, etc.) is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection systems, and encryption technologies.
- Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems and vulnerability management tools.
- Proficiency in incident response, risk management, and compliance standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in high-pressure situations.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience:
- At least 2-3 years of experience in a cybersecurity role, with a proven track record of managing security systems and responding to incidents.
- Previous experience in a remote or hybrid work environment is a plus, but not required.
- Hands-on experience with various cybersecurity tools, including antivirus, firewalls, SIEM, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
Working Hours:
- Full-time position.
- Flexible working hours with the possibility of evening or weekend work, depending on the needs of the security incidents and project timelines.
