Job Summary:

The Elite Job is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Home-Based Localization Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a Localization Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate, culturally appropriate translations of content across various platforms and markets. Key Responsibilities:

• Translate and localize content across different formats (websites, apps, software, marketing materials) from English to Malaysian and vice versa.
• Collaborate with project managers and content creators to understand requirements and ensure quality translations.
• Review and edit translated content for clarity, accuracy, grammar, and consistency.
• Ensure all translations align with the cultural norms, preferences, and specificities of the target audience.
• Conduct quality assurance tests on localized products to ensure functionality and correctness.
• Maintain a consistent voice and style across all translations.
• Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks based on project needs.
• Support other localization-related tasks such as proofreading and content adaptation for different regions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proficiency in English and Malay (both written and spoken).
• Proven experience in localization, translation, or a related field.
• In-depth understanding of cultural nuances and local context in Malaysia.
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to adapt content to different audiences.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional proofreading and editing skills.
• Familiarity with CAT tools and translation software (such as SDL Trados, MemoQ, or similar).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new systems and software.

Experience:

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in localization or translation.
• Prior experience working remotely and managing time effectively is preferred.
• A background in a specific industry (such as technology, e-commerce, gaming, etc.) is a plus but not mandatory.
• Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams is beneficial.

Working Hours:

• Flexible working hours with the expectation to meet deadlines and deliverables.
• Regular check-ins and communication with the team to ensure progress.
• Availability during standard working hours for team collaboration and meetings (GMT+8).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Expertise in the localization of digital content and marketing materials.
• Proficiency in localization tools and translation management systems.
• Strong understanding of website/app localization, including UI/UX considerations.
• Ability to work with multiple teams, ensuring that the content is accurate, relevant, and effective for local audiences.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote setup.
