Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Production Operator to join our dynamic team on an oil rig. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and optimizing the daily operations of the oil production process. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of equipment, compliance with safety regulations, and the continuous improvement of production efficiency. The role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate, monitor, and control production equipment to ensure optimal performance of the oil rig.
• Regularly inspect equipment and systems to identify potential malfunctions or inefficiencies.
• Adjust production parameters to optimize oil extraction and processing operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Perform routine maintenance and report any significant wear and tear on equipment.
• Maintain detailed production records, including performance data and operational logs.
• Collaborate with the engineering and maintenance teams to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
• Assist in the preparation and execution of emergency response plans when required.
• Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance skills and knowledge of industry best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Production Operator or similar role in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong understanding of oil rig operations and production processes.
• Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting production equipment and machinery.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in high-pressure environments.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols in the oil and gas sector.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and report production data.
• Willingness to work in remote or offshore locations for extended periods.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Production Operator or in a similar role within the oil and gas industry.
• Experience working in offshore oil rigs or production facilities is highly preferred.
• Practical knowledge of production optimization and troubleshooting techniques.
• Experience in the maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical systems on an oil rig is an asset.

Working Hours:

• Rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on the needs of the operation.
• 12-hour shifts, typically on a 14 days on/14 days off rotation (subject to change depending on project requirements).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• In-depth knowledge of oil rig production systems and processes.
• Familiarity with control systems and equipment used in oil production (e.g., pumps, compressors, separators).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and emergency protocols in offshore operations.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and methods to improve production efficiency.
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
