Oil Rig Jobs is seeking a skilled and experienced Drilling Engineer to lead the design and oversight of drilling operations for oil rigs. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and design drilling plans in line with technical, budgetary, and safety standards.
  • Oversee the implementation of drilling operations, ensuring adherence to timelines and cost controls.
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine optimal drilling techniques.
  • Analyze geological data and collaborate with geologists, reservoir engineers, and project teams to optimize well performance.
  • Monitor drilling progress and address challenges in real time, implementing corrective measures as needed.
  • Evaluate and recommend equipment, materials, and technologies to improve operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry best practices.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, cost estimates, and performance analysis to stakeholders.
  • Train and mentor junior engineers and crew members to maintain a high-performance culture.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of drilling engineering principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Proficiency in industry software such as Drilling Office, WellView, or Landmark software.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and environmental regulations in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in drilling operations, preferably in offshore or high-pressure/high-temperature (HPHT) environments.
  • Proven track record of successful project management in oil and gas drilling.

Working Hours

  • Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, during critical project phases or emergencies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of drilling equipment, wellbore stability, and drilling fluid systems.
  • Familiarity with advanced drilling techniques, such as horizontal drilling and managed pressure drilling.
  • Ability to interpret complex geological and technical data.
  • Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
