Job Summary

Oil Rig Jobs is seeking a skilled and experienced Rig Mechanic to join our team. The Rig Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical equipment on our offshore and onshore rigs. This role requires hands-on experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining heavy machinery in challenging environments. Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment, including engines, pumps, hydraulic systems, and drilling machinery.
  • Perform routine maintenance to ensure the reliability and longevity of all rig equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical failures and conduct repairs promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in the installation and testing of new equipment as required.
  • Work closely with the rig team to ensure seamless operations, safety, and efficiency.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Participate in regular safety drills and emergency response training.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Rig Mechanic or in a similar role in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and heavy machinery.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and mechanical repair equipment.
  • Understanding of industry safety standards and best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repairs on oil rigs or heavy equipment in a related industry.
  • Vocational or technical training in mechanics or a related field is preferred.

Working Hours

  • Rotational schedule: 12-hour shifts, including days and nights.
  • Typical rotation: 28 days on and 28 days off (offshore assignments).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • In-depth understanding of rig equipment and mechanical operations.
  • Ability to work under pressure in challenging and remote environments.
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to handle heavy equipment.
  • Proficiency in computer systems for maintenance logging and reporting.
