Job Summary

We are seeking a professional and dedicated Security Officer to join our team in Lower Manhattan, providing critical security services for a prestigious corporate building. As a Security Officer, you will ensure the safety and security of our clients facilities, employees, and visitors. You will play a vital role in maintaining a secure environment by monitoring activities, controlling access points, and responding to emergencies promptly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and patrol the premises to ensure the safety and security of the building, its assets, employees, and visitors.
• Manage access control systems by verifying credentials, issuing visitor passes, and ensuring proper entry/exit procedures.
• Respond to emergencies, such as medical incidents, fires, and security breaches, following established protocols.
• Document and report any incidents, breaches, or suspicious activities to management.
• Maintain surveillance equipment, ensure they are functioning correctly, and address any malfunctions.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting employees and visitors with directions, inquiries, and security-related issues.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
• Conduct regular inspections of the building and surrounding areas to ensure safety compliance.
• Enforce security policies and procedures to protect property and ensure a safe working environment for all.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; further security-related education or certifications is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to handle stressful and emergency situations effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and observation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of security systems and surveillance technology.
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal laws regarding security and safety protocols.
• Valid security guard license in New York State (or ability to obtain one).

Experience

• Previous experience as a Security Officer, Security Guard, or in a related security role is preferred.
• Experience in corporate, office, or government security environments is a plus.
• Ability to demonstrate a calm and efficient approach in emergency situations.

Working Hours

• Full-time position with flexible shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Shift lengths will vary depending on operational needs, typically ranging from 8 to 12 hours.
