Job Summary
American Airlines is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Specialist in Aviation Recruitment Operations to join our dynamic recruitment team. This role is responsible for leading and managing the full recruitment lifecycle for various aviation-related positions. You will work closely with hiring managers, HR teams, and aviation departments to attract, assess, and place top talent within American Airlines. Key Responsibilities
- Lead recruitment efforts for aviation roles, including pilots, flight attendants, ground crew, and other technical or operational positions.
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, from identifying recruitment needs to offering and onboarding candidates.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with American Airlines hiring goals.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand the requirements of each role and provide tailored recruitment solutions.
- Review resumes, conduct interviews, and evaluate candidates for suitability to the position.
- Coordinate with external recruitment agencies and maintain strong relationships with job boards, universities, and aviation-related institutions.
- Manage and update recruitment databases and applicant tracking systems.
- Ensure a positive candidate experience, maintaining clear communication and transparency throughout the hiring process.
- Track and report on key recruitment metrics, such as time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, and candidate quality.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and compliance requirements related to aviation recruitment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in recruitment, with a focus on aviation or technical roles.
- Strong knowledge of recruitment processes, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and HR technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple recruitment projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Familiarity with aviation industry regulations, standards, and terminology is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in recruitment, ideally within the aviation or transportation sectors.
- Experience in sourcing, interviewing, and placing high-volume or specialized aviation roles.
- Previous experience using ATS systems and managing end-to-end recruitment processes.
Working Hours
- Full-time position with standard working hours (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM), with occasional evening or weekend work as needed to accommodate the international nature of the recruitment needs.

- Knowledge: Understanding of aviation industry operations, recruitment trends, and labor market conditions.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in using recruitment tools and software (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter, HireVue).
