Job Summary:

As a Forklift Operator at Frito-Lay, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and distribution centers by safely and efficiently operating forklifts to transport goods and materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts to transport materials, products, and supplies within the warehouse and distribution facility.
• Load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, or shelving units while ensuring product safety and damage-free handling.
• Ensure the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse, complying with safety and operational protocols.
• Maintain inventory levels by accurately moving products into designated areas, assisting with stock checks, and reporting discrepancies.
• Adhere to safety standards and guidelines, conducting regular equipment inspections to ensure proper functioning.
• Follow established processes for storing and retrieving materials, and participate in cycle counts or stock audits as needed.
• Communicate with supervisors and team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet operational deadlines.
• Assist in other warehouse tasks such as packaging, sorting, and general upkeep as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a forklift operator, with a strong understanding of warehouse operations.
• Certification in forklift operation (or willingness to obtain certification).
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read and understand labels, safety instructions, and other warehouse documents.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong commitment to safety practices and protocol adherence.

Experience:

• Previous experience working in a warehouse or distribution center is preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in forklift operation or related roles is a plus.
• Experience with inventory management and warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous.

Working Hours:

• Full-time position with various shifts available (day, night, weekend shifts may apply based on business needs).
• Flexible hours with potential overtime depending on operational demands.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and best practices.
• Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and tools within the warehouse.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, particularly in troubleshooting minor forklift issues or navigating difficult storage areas.
• Proficiency in using warehouse equipment, including hand trucks, pallet jacks, and scanners.
