Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Tunnel Engineering Professional to work on large-scale underground metro tunnel projects. The role involves planning, supervision, and quality control of tunnel construction using TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) or NATM (New Austrian Tunneling Method) techniques.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field
- 3–10 years of relevant experience in underground metro tunnel construction
- Strong knowledge of TBM operations, segmental lining, grouting, and ground stabilization
- Familiar with IS codes, Metro Rail safety norms, and project documentation
- Good communication and team coordination skills
- Experience with contractor or client-side tunnel projects preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise tunneling activities, including excavation, lining, waterproofing, and safety checks
- Liaise with TBM operators, site engineers, and project managers
- Monitor geological conditions and adjust tunneling strategy accordingly
- Ensure adherence to daily targets, quality standards, and HSE compliance
- Prepare daily progress reports, inspection records, and coordinate with design & QA/QC teams
- Handle troubleshooting in tunnel alignment, slurry separation, or machine issues
Work Environment:
- Based on-site at tunnel portals or control rooms
- Shift-based work, including night shifts, depending on project phase
- PPE, safety training, and insurance provided
