As a Customer Service Agent onboard, you’ll be the first point of contact for guests — handling inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring guest satisfaction from embarkation to disembarkation.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist passengers at reception and guest services desks
- Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints professionally
- Coordinate with onboard departments (housekeeping, F&B, security, etc.)
- Handle billing inquiries, onboard accounts, and guest transactions
- Provide information about ship services, excursions, and amenities
- Log and track guest issues, following up to ensure resolution
- Work in shifts, including nights and sea days, in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain detailed records and accurate communication logs
Qualifications and Requirements
- South African citizenship with a valid passport
- Minimum Grade 12 (Matric); hospitality or tourism qualifications are a plus
- Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or travel industry preferred
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); additional languages are a bonus
- Friendly, calm, and patient personality under pressure
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work long hours and adapt to an international work culture
- Must pass seafarer’s medical exam, criminal background check, and visa process
- Willingness to live onboard for 6–8 months per contract
